Childhood Matters is a radio forum that seeks to increase knowledge and support for parents and other adults who care for children.
This weeks show: During the preteen years (ages 9 to 13) a child’s social world tends to take on new significance in their lives. As kids experience the physical and emotional changes of early adolescence, their friendships become increasingly important. Challenging relationships with friends and bullies, at school and online, can deeply impact a child’s well-being. Guests: Dr. Tom Tarshis, MD, MPH, President and Medical Director of the Bay Area Children’s Association, and Mandy Stracke, Lead Peer Advisory Teacher at Quimby Oak Middle School.
